How does one blog about sock knitting — especially when the first one is complete and pictures have been posted? This is dejavu knitting. I have been working on the second self striping sock. I have knit about two inches – actually knit more than that, but had to do some frogging! (for you non-knitters that is a funny way of saying I had to rip-it!! rip-it/ribbit get it??) So progress is being made and it looks just like the other one. This is exciting for me, but perhaps a bit boring for you!

Today is knitting guild day. The hostess-with-the-mostess is Ricki. I gifted her a panini press and am looking forward to some good eats as well as knitting!! I popped the camera into my knitting bag and will hopefully have some pictures to share later today.

An Irish Yarn
The truth behind the tragically romantic myth of the Aran sweater.

via The Knitting Curmudgeon in her entry dated February 22nd. A great article — although I do love the myth!

Once upon a time, my great friend Carmel (she of the bucket-o-chic) lived in Ireland. My family and I were lucky to be able to visit her twice while she was there. We are luckier still that she moved back!! Here are some pictures from our first trip in 1999.

here’s a little something lest you think Ireland is wall-to-wall sheep!
