shall we chat about Colonial House? Here are some of my observations:

1. I think they should have found Carolyn Heinz guilty of witchcraft and possibly stoned her to death. What a grating twit she is. ‘Now that he’s governor, I feel more myself’ – ick.

2. that part where they were sucking on the goat’s teat was more disturbing than the lamb butchering.

3. Don Wood is a hottie.

4. So is Danny Tisdale.

5. Do you know that they live in NYC , which isn’t all that far away?

6. Governor Heinz just about made me retch with his last line ‘We have run the race. We have kept our faith’. wonder how long he was rehearsing that one.

7. I really liked the Wyers family, even though their fundamentalist beliefs would make me crazy if I actually knew any of them.

8. I also really liked the Vorjees family.

9. did I mention my distaste for both flavors of Heinz?

I took Daughter #2 and her Girlfriend into the city on Sunday. She has been wanting to go there for sometime (she heard the shopping was great) and I thought that Sunday was as good a time as any. Our weekends get filled so quickly that I wasn’t sure when the next opportunity would be available. So back I went – and gladly!! Daughter #1 had no interest in coming along. She was content to stay home – but I think she will come with us next time. That is how it happens that I was in the city again, but this time with two 15-year-old-girls.

We took the subway to Canal Street and started walking. It was wall to wall people – so many shops, vendors and fly-by-night set ups. We were all agog! My companions were popping into every shop and stall. After about four blocks of this, they realized there was no way to see everything and we went off in search of lunch.

Joe Shanghai’s on Pell Street. They are famous for their dumplings, so that is what we ordered. Yum!!

Thus fortified, we went off walking again. We did so much walking, through Little Italy – stopping for some sorbetto – and then into SoHo. The girls were popping into all the stores along the way.

We made a celebrity sighting in SoHo. Will Smith was walking along the sidewalk after just finishing with some filming! He was very friendly – talking to people etc. and he looks exactly the way he appears on screen.

After a full day it was back on the subway to Penn and then home! We are in discussions about our next city adventure!

Being a plucky knitter, I brought my knitting for the train ride! I made a fair amount of headway on the first sleeve!

You should read Sharon’s site — she did a much better job than I of capturing the flavor of our get together! (plus she said nice things about me!)
