God I love the smell of bacon …

Fryup1 FryupbuttonDo you remember the Hallowig?  That was a fun & silly project.  I wore it to a Halloween party and someone there, it was Medusa, fell  in love with it.  She said she would wear it as a winter hat and at the end of the night I gave it to her.

Well, I have joined another Knit Along – this one is the Fry Up.  More silliness!  Nothing like a little giggle on the needles.  Sometimes these things can surprise you – either you end up loving it, or someone else does.  In any event I am all joined up and have to look in my fridge stash for yarn.  You better be careful about compliments, or I may end up giving it to you!  Click on the button above to see who else will be sporting spam come springtime!

These two are so talented — do you think they will still invite me if I keep making fry-ups and Hallowigs?  Maybe they would like a fry-up too?  We could move our knitting group to the local diner and work on our fry-ups ….

anyone out there game for a bit of sausage? (ah, the google hits I’ll get ….)

Holy Schamolies!!  Twenty comments!  That is a record for the old swine.  Thanks you guys, you really know how to make a girl feel special!  ;)

Spent the day with some knitting friends – Ricki hosted our little group today.  Not only are these women excellent knitters with wicked senses of humor, they are also good cooks!  Who could resist such charms?  A lovely, decadent day.  You will be happy to hear that I remembered to take the camera and will have some pictures for you tomorrow.

In other news, Purlingswine who vowed not to make any resolutions has started a health campaign.  I will not use the word diet – although I reserve the right to refer to it as a slimming regimen.  I had started keeping a food/exercise journal back in August and lost 14 pounds.  Despite that success I stopped keeping the journal.  * cue the string section for first measure of What Kind of Fool Am I? *

During the past couple of weeks I have been having an internal dialogue that went something like ….

  • You know Ann, you should really get that journal going again.
  • yeah, yeah I will
  • It really works when you do that.  It’s such a simple thing.
  • I know, I know.
  • So why aren’t you doing it?
  • F*** off.

Can you believe I use that kind of language with myself??

On Monday, I resurrected the journal.  I was thrilled this morning to discover that I had only regained four of those pounds and have already managed to lose one of them this week!  voila!  journaling really does work – like magic!  I have been kicking around the idea of starting another blog all about this sort of thing ….. can’t decide …..

As if that weren’t enough for a body to stand ….. My wonderful MiL called this morning to say that she bought me a Pilates machine!  The Boar and I had been discussing buying a Bowflex but discovered that one of those machines wouldn’t fit in our basement (tall machine, low ceiling).  MiL heard about this and decided to treat us.  She has been interested in the Pilates machine, but doesn’t have a spot in her condo for one.  It is due to arrive on the 19th and she and I will be working out!

Little Mr. Poe has awoken from his nap and now I must go and take him out back for a little constitutional …
