don’t forget to floss!
Yesterday was a crazy day here at Chez Swine. It was D#2’s birthday — my baby is 15!! Between running her around to flute lesson and riding lesson, doing the grocery shopping, cleaning, having my wisdom tooth removed and yoga I barely had a chance to sit.
SiL has proclaimed herself immune to Mr. Poe’s charms. She has further requested that I post a picture of Bridget and Daisy. Normally I am not only stubborn, but downright contrary about requests like this, to know me is to love me.
However, it just so happens that I did get a very nice picture of Daisy the other day and also one of Nick. SiL is right about one thing – Daisy is the very best one of my dogs. Nick is quite an evil cat – that’s why we like him!

When he’s not posing for the camera, Mr. Poe is just a regular dog.
bounty!
Check out the great purse I bought this weekend at a neighborhood garage sale! This picture is not doing it justice — the flash on the camera has flattened out the leather somewhat – it really gleams.
To think that I came very close to not stopping at the sale. I was on my way home from the daily yoga class (still doing the challenge!) and was covered in sweat. That is one of the joys of being in your 40’s, you really stop giving a sh*t about stuff like that. I slowed Onslow down as we passed by, saw that it looked promising and stopped.
Is there anything better than old leather and brass? Here is a close up of the hardware and a peek inside.
What can compare to the satisfaction of a garage sale score?
I also got quite a lot done on my Go With the Flow Socks – I am past the gusset and knitting along on my way to the toe decreases. Sadly, I am only slightly farther along than before. I realized that I knit the heel across the wrong 28 stitches – which offset the instep pattern by two stitches.
When did I have this epiphany?
after I picked up the 19 gusset stitches, long after I had turned the heel.
How long did it take me to accept the inevitable?
about four rows after my epiphany.
four rows plus the 36 heel flap rows, plus another two because I had trouble picking them back up.
ribbit!
