Mr. Boar is home today and he came with me on my Costco shopping trip. This is really nice because it’s always nice to have company, plus he can help with the heavy stuff.

We are walking around the store on our Costco date and Mr. Boar is like a fifth grade boy – he keeps poking me, grabbing my arm, pinching me. I think he thinks it’s romantic. and it would be …. if I still kept a little diary with a unicorn and a lock on it where I could write down all my Robbie Benson fantasies.

Can you picture it? me trying to do some last minute Christmas shopping with the whole pushing of the cart and the crowded Costco and Boar full of piss and vinegar. Finally after one back of arm/triceps pinchy-poo too many I say, “For the love of God would you knock it off?!”.

and he says, “I just love that skin flap”.

Take a moment won’t you and re-read that last sentence. My underarm – Mr. Boar referred to my skin flap. Yup, skin flap. That is exactly what he said.

ps. Cara has already told me to look on the bright side – he could hate that skin flap.

pps. and I got plenty more skin flaps where that came from.

Wall Street Vest

It has been too long between pictures around here! This is one full pattern repeat of the Wall Street Vest for Boar. It has become clear to me that there is NO way this will be done in time for Christmas. That’s okay though, I have plenty of other things with his name on them.

D#1 called with terrible news yesterday. A student was killed during a fight at an off campus party. You can read about it here. She was not at the party nor did she know the student personally. Alfred is a very small school though, with quite a ‘family’ feel to it and this is shocking and terribly upsetting. I feel badly for all the families involved. I will be so glad to have D#1 home this weekend.

you may begin.

Take note people! This is my horoscope for today …..

Aquarius:

Living on the fast track can be exciting and rewarding, but right about now it is time you slowed down your forward momentum. You can wait a few days to return those phone calls or emails — why look so eager? Let the other people involved show their willingness to put forth some effort. You should be courted and pursued right now, not the other way around. You need to be reminded that you are a prize that is worth winning — and working for.

I await all the courting & pursuing.

ps.  it’s true, living on the fast track is exciting and rewarding!

I know I’m all for

Blogging Without Obligation

but it has been too long!!

Quickly – D#2 seems to be much improved. She is still not 100%, maybe more like 88%. The Dr. thinks it is a viral thing – lots of weird things going around here lately. Thank you for all your comments and concern! She is pretty much back to her regular schedule, just taking it easy when she feels she needs to (and sometimes when I feel she needs to).

A few of you asked what diet I was on that required a daily soak in a hot tub. Kay inspired me to give the Ultra Simple Diet a try. I also have the Ultra Metabolism book, but haven’t gotten to that yet. I just finished the first week and have to say that this program is working very well for me so far. And it does require a relaxing bath at the end of the day!! I have lost 6 pounds in the first week and an inch off my waist. The much better thing is that I feel great. In the past when I have lost weight, I don’t know if I could say that – at least not at the outset. I really feel terrific (didn’t realize that I wasn’t feeling terrific).

enough about that – I don’t want to jinx it!

how about some knitting chat? This yarn just arrived on my porch! I originally ordered it in gray but it was sadly out of stock. So I replaced it with the evergreen color. I am planning on knitting Boar the Wall Street Vest from the book Arans & Celtics: The Best of Knitter’s Magazine. Here is a Ravelry picture of the project. I have borrowed this book from my library, but am inclined to purchase a copy for my shelf. I am hoping to start a gauge swatch today and will finally have some knitting I can put on my blog since Boar never reads it.
