Check it out — those little spindly green thing? They’re asparagus! And in only two more years, I will be able to have some. ;)

I decided to ignore Martha Stewart with all of her talk about ‘double digging’ and slowly filling in the hole. Instead I fully embraced these instructions. Now those are some instructions I can get behind!! When I read that, this is what I heard – dig a hole, toss ’em in and don’t bother with all the other stuff. Except super phosphate. Be sure to do that.

a close up

There is also a gardening mystery going on out there. I planted a few varieties of tomatoes. Look at what is growing amongst them. I just took one picture but they are everywhere!

what do you think?
my guess is cucumbers reseeded from the compost.

Although it is D#2 in the pictures, this project was knit for my goddaughter Claire who is having a birthday this week. It is all boxed up and ready to go to the post office! Happy Birthday Claire!

This was a fun and quick project to knit. Which is a good thing for me because now the model wants one too. And possibly D#1 who was nearby during the little photo session and made appreciative comments.

I scream. You scream.

we all scream for frozen yogurt?

It is that time of year.  I have taken out my little Cuisinart ice cream maker.  Do you remember my implusive ice cream adventure last year?   It is all still true and if anything – more true!  The Cuisinart is great and I didn’t realize at the time what a GREAT THING it is to have that extra freezer bowl.  I highly recommend the extra bowl.  I am going to a knitting BBQ today and offered to bring some frozen yogurt –  the bowl needs to be fresh from the freezer to work and it holds 1 quart, so if you want to make a certain amount it is very nice indeed to have that extra bowl all ready to go.

and this recipe is still the absolute best.
