Hey Ann — did you ever get to blocking that shawl?

Thanks for asking! Actually, I did, sort of. In the midst of foyer painting, the eternal circle of laundry was grinding onward. As we speak, the shawl is wrapped in a conveniently clean, damp towel ala Chicknits. It will be interesting to see what I do with it tomorrow. I have not made it to Home Depot to pick up that piece of insulation for a blocking board and don’t anticipate getting there tomorrow. I tried to pin it on a large sheet of plywood, but the pins were not up to the challenge. Perhaps I will use Chicknits suggestion and use an area rug. This will necessitate a thorough vacuuming and I will no doubt still end up with dog fur all over it. hmmm …. Furry Strawberry Shortcake.

I finished the Strawberry Shortcake Shawl last night. Used a whole skein just for the fringe! You may want to sit down for this next statement …. there is a possibility that I will block it today! I know, I know — what is the world coming to?

It must be something in the air. Lately, I have been trying to do things by the book and not cut corners. It all started with swatching. It moved on to ironing seams open while sewing. Then came the taping before painting. And now blocking! oh, and I have also become a diligent flosser!! I hardly recognize myself. (without spinach stuck between my teeth!)

Today’s project is to paint the foyer. I have been threatening to post pictures of these many house projects and I will, someday soon. For now, I have taken the liberty of crossing the foyer project off the list.

1. stain nine five doors
2. paint foyer
3.paint kitchen
4.paint pantry area
5.paint hallway
6.paint bathroom
7.paint den
