The long wait is over and we are on our way!!! We are hitting the road at 9:30 am, will be stopping for lunch and are hoping to arrive around 2:00 pm. We will be carrying those purlingswine totebags, so look for us!
Month: April 2004
The Vest is a blockin’ and The House is a rockin’ !!!
When all had given up hope that The Vest would ever be finished, the day has arrived! I won’t post a pic until the Boar can model it for us. This was a project that sat in my knitting bag for two years. There it sat, completely finished except for the seaming of the buttonbands! And there I sat, completely ignoring it.
I have made such a friggin big deal about this vest that you may be expecting to see some knitting miracle, something so spectacular it could only be a mirage. Don’t get your hopes up — it is simply a stockinette stitch vest.
The thought consuming my brain today is that I am leaving tomorrow!! hip-hip-hooray! Join in, won’t you while I chant the B-52’s song:
I got me a car
It’s as big as a whale and
We’re About to Set Sail!
We’re heading down the Jersey Turnpike
Looking for the Sheep Festival!
And what a weekend I am leaving behind. Among the many things to get done:
- Saturday
- drive daughter #1 to SAT’s
- drive daughter #2 for eye exam
- drive 1 & 2 to barn
- pick up 1 & 2 from barn
- drive #1 to movies to meet up with friends
- pick up from movies
- feed yourselves & dogs
- Sunday
- back to barn
- pick up from barn
- make sure #2 helps out in packing up trunk containing horse related horse show items for away show next week
- feed yourselves & dogs
- straighten house before Mom gets home
they can do it!!! they are all fully-functioning human beings — I refuse to believe otherwise.

Craziest Thing
My Boar has uttered what has to be the craziest thing to ever come out of his mouth. When he comes out with these little gems, it makes me question not only his sanity, but also the state of our marriage. After 18 years of holy matrimony you would think he would know me better.
Here is how it went:
scene: Purlingswine is doing her morning blog reading – Boar is doing paperwork in the adjoining room
PS: Wow!
Boar: What?
PS: Where is Rheinbeck?
Boar: I think it’s north of Westchester – why?
PS: I see there is another Sheep & Fiber Festival in October!
Boar: exasperated sigh Oh For God’s sake.
PS: What?? I could maybe make a day trip ….
Boar: Why don’t you see if you like the one this weekend before you go planning the next.
what is the matter with that man?!
