Dear BlockBuster,

I am so over you.

You with your late fees, your ever changing policies, your constant need to be right – all your gall and audacity can’t hurt me anymore. You probably never even knew how much I would agonize and obsess to meet your needs. gotta remember to return the videos gotta remember to return the videos gotta remember to return the videos I had lost myself in trying to please you. What about what I wanted, what I needed?

I ask myself why did I stay with you as long as I did?? So many years of my life I’ll never get back.

At first, you were a novelty. When you blew into town, everyone sat up and took notice. There had never been anyone like you before – the possibilites were endless. I know I wasn’t the only one who felt that way – you always drew a crowd, the attraction was obvious. You seemed like – and were – the only game in town. When you gave me that card, I was flattered – you wanted me!

Somehwere along the line, everything changed. It was all about you. What hoops I had to jump throught to keep you happy. You never cared about what was going on in my life – all you ever cared about was getting your friggin’ videos back.

Well, that last hoop was just too high.

When we broke up, I thought I would never look at another dvd again.

But that’s all changed.

There’s someone new. Someone who cares about me, who wants me to be happy. They are so easy to be with – it’s a refreshing change. They make me feel like a princess. And you know what Blockbuster? They make me want to try new things!

I have moved on.

You better sit up and take notice, Blockbuster. Soon everyone will feel the way I do. As far as I’m concerned, you can take your card and shove it!

What’s his name?? It’s Netflix, if you must know. We are in love.

Daughter #1 and I watched The Station Agent last night. What a great movie!

What a great time we had last night! Melissa, Joanne, Kathleen, Ricki, Peggy, Claire & I all got together for a bit of knitting. Although I had already met/known everyone – for many of them, it was their first time meeting each other. The group hit it off – no awkward shyness, just loads of knitting and laughing. I can’t speak for everyone else, but I did more laughing than knitting! Visit Joanne & Melissa’s site for pictures – I only took these three.

The first two are from a series I may entitle You’d Give Me a Taste If You Loved Me.That’s Kathleen and my obnoxious pug Lucy who wanted to share a lemon square. Actually, Lucy made herself quite at home amongst the knitters – falling alseep on Melissa’s French Market Bag and getting involved in Kathleen’s stash. Luckily Kathleen is a pug lover so she was tolerant of Lucy’s pushy ways. Also pictured is the lovely Claire – she entered the home stretch on a sock project that has been lingering!

We ate too many lemon squares, had some wine and a slice of cake to celebrate Melissa’s birthday. perhaps a bit too much sugar?
