argh

We have a window in our basement that has a lovely view of the underside of our deck. It is pretty bad, but we didn’t want to get rid of this window since it does offer some light and a bit of air in the summer.

Today I made this window my mission.

At first I thought I would make a curtain. Believe it or not, in two full size dressers devoted to fabric, I could find nothing suitable. I even went through old tablecloths. In the process of searching for fabric I ended up organizing one closet and getting the ironing done. (I can’t seem to start one job without 3 more making themselves known).

I remembered reading something online about making a solution that you paint on the window and it crystallizes as it dries — giving a frosted look. So off I trot to see if I can dig up Epsom salts. I thought we had some, but had a strong suspicion that I threw the box out in a fit of spring cleaning. I was right. Ended up cleaning under the bathroom sink. Put epsom salts on shopping list.

score closet: 1 vanity: 1 ironing: 1 window: 0
