I thought if I took this project out and posted some pictures it would force me into some knitting action. It is on the verge of becoming a/an UFO (unfinished object). This is an Aran Jacket that I ordered through Herrschners awhile ago. It will have a wide, shawl collar and deep front pockets. The back is finished and the smaller photo is the right front. It has been in production since May.

Question for all you knitters/crafters out there: How do you divide your work between multiple projects? Do you just work on one item until it is finished, or do you split your time between different things?

Here is a list of things needing my attention:
bucket-o-chic for me
bucket-o-chic for cousin
mittens for sil
aran coat for me
ciderhouse rules vest for my boar

any thoughts on how to divide the time?

MoMo Lovers United

My Public seems to think that Little-Man-Mo was being passive/aggressive in urinating on his new overcoat. Furthermore, My Public believes that I am remiss in loving him. Perhaps the coat wasn’t enough, perhaps a Grand Gesture is needed, perhaps My Public would like for me to knit him one of these. Would that make everyone happy??

ps. No, I will not be taking orders on any for your husbands!

All the World’s a Critic ….

I had lots of great comments on the previous post. Mo, however, had other things to tell me about his new outerwear.

Knitting confessions: This is Mo’s second sweater. The first one I knit was a bit too big. A bit = him constantly coming out of his sweater. This is because I failed to check my gauge – not only that, but I didn’t bother even measuring him, let alone the sweater.

Thinking I have learned from past mistakes, I make him another sweater. I measured him and the size of the Granny Squares. The coat was a bit too long from his neck to his tail, but I also had to work within the framework of the squares, so to eliminate the last row would have made it too short. I decided to err on the side of too long. As you can see, I spent some time mulling this over and considering things.

Things I failed to consider — The Dark Underbelly of the Beast. foreboding organ music

Things to know about me — all animals in my house are female, except for Mo. I have two daughters and no sons. I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about “male” things. ahem ;)

Anywho, Mo came in from his morning ablutions in the back yard having pissed all over his sweater!!
