P2210009Julia at KnittingHistory has recently posted pictures of a few knitting ‘antiques’.

I also have an antique or two and thought I would share this picture. This not a knitting artifact but a sewing one — it is a sewing needle and bobbin dispenser. I bought it last year on a trip to Rochester to visit my brother and sister-in-law. It is actually quite big — about 22″ in diameter. I have it hanging on a wall in the den. This room, despite the prescence of a large screen television, is turning into something of a fiber studio. I have most of my stash stored in a mapchest in that room along with knitting mags and books, my swift, my winder, my collection of knitting bags and now Proud Mary!

I am glad Julia inspired my post today – without that, I had nothing!
