hand me a cigar!!

P1010146I’m a Grandma!! It’s a wonderful thing when you watch your children grow. My father once told me that one way to know you were a good parent is to see how your children raise their children. I have been a very good parent. And now, I am a grandma —- shall I be a Nana or Grammy? I think Grammy. I hope she lets me babysit once in awhile. I can’t wait to spoil her rotten.

What?? How can it be that I am a grammy? I am a knitting grammy. My friend Claire is a knitter. When I met her she was something of a lapsed knitter — I adopted her, or she adopted me. I became her knitting mentor, her fiber mother as it were. I am proud to announce that she has completed her first pair of socks!

And now, my little Claire, whom I have raised from a pup, since she was knee high to a grass hopper, since she was cutting her teeth ….. ooh, I’m getting a bit misty …… well anyway, she is a knitting mentor herself!

Over the weekend we got together to do a bit of knitting and were joined by another friend Amy who wanted to learn. I think Claire was a bit surprised to find herself being the teacher ….. it’s good for her, she’s ready

  1. Geeze, lady, give a person a cardiac on a Monday morning, will ya????

I just saw your two girls and neither looked like she had any buns in their ovens!!!!!!

I am “Grammy”, BTW. Or, “Gammy,” depending on my mood.

You ARE coming to the Spinning Guild meeting, I presume? I will have a large skein of hand spun wool to show off! It is block-drying now. 3 bobbins full. And, I’m starting on my next bucket-O-rolags tonight!
