It’s official, I have become a clich&#233. Not only am I a knitter, but now I am a knitter who makes tea cozies!

While searching about for a poncho pattern, I made this sheep tea cozy. Let them laugh, let them make fun ….. I ♥ him. If your teapot is jonesin for a jumper, then click here for the pattern.

I have also started the poncho. After much blustering about (metaphorical blustering. Bluster implies leaving a wake in your path, perhaps some dead leaves flurrying about — all of my blustering was done online … in the internet vacuum) I finally settled on this pattern. Note to self: when using a wicked, mohair blend, be bold, be brave, be sure. Ripping this stuff back is a bitch. So here are some pictures of my progress – please witness my use of lovely stitch markers. These beauties were hand crafted by my dear friend Peggy!

  1. I have to say that I mocked Purling Swine unmercifully about this stupid tea cozy. But she is wise and convinced me that it is a good teaching tool to learn how to cable and a good Christmas gift for my mother-in-law who is a tea afficianado. I report here that I LOVE making this. Most importantly, Ms Swine is the most patient, postive, and encouraging teacher a gal
could have. I thank you from the bottom of my
    self-absorbed little heart!
PS-my little sheep is heather brown with a black face-had to make him a bit edgier, you know…
