Do you have Knitting on the Road by Nancy Bush? This book is making me crazy — I have tried two different sock patterns and each time have come up against pattern errors. ergh.
Would you do me a favor? Go get that book and look at the picture on page 92 – it’s the Whitby Sock. What stitch is that going all along the calf and towards the top of the sock (not the cable, the ribbing stitch)?? The pattern says it is K2P2. I think it is a twisted rib…… I have searched for errata and now I am appealing to you! (read with Groucho Marx inflection: I hope I’m appealing to you, then maybe you’ll get up from your computer, go find that book and check this out for me!)
We missed you last night at spinning guild! Several new members.
I have the book but haven’t attempted any patterns from it yet. Thanks for the tip that it’s full of errors though.
I haven’t attempted any of the patterns from Knitting on the Road but I did recently acquire the book. The Whitby sock is one that I’ve had my eye on to knit soon. When I get home I’ll take a closer look at the pattern and tell you what I think I see when I look at the pattern. Have you thought about emailing Nancy Bush and asking her? I know she has a mail order company called the Wooly West (I think)where she sells patterns and yarn (some of the yarn featured in the book). Maybe she would be kind enough to respond. I would certainly be interested in any reponse she has to offer.
