Princess Knits has a wonderful entry about Advent Calendars. It reminded me so clearly of my own childhood memories ….. the part about the 24th having the double doors, hunting for the numbers and the glitter! do they even make those types of calendars anymore?

I have been getting one each year from our military commissary. The ones they sell come from Germany. No glitter but each day you get a little chocolate. Owen loves it! I forgot to start the calender so today he will get two! I have fond memories of those calenders too. I just couldn’t understand why they usually ended on the 24th and not the 25th! Felt shorted. LOL
