The kitchen ceiling is done – what a lot of back breaking work went into it and the sad fact of the matter is that no one ever notices a ceiling. Unless it needs to be painted or unless it has a fresco or something. So I have a beautiful, clean and white kitchen ceiling! Tomorrow we start on the walls. I hope that the painting aspect of this job is done by Sunday – I have some wood staining to do and then will need to move everything back into the kitchen.

Dutch Boy over here, but the color looks pretty darned close. Wall number one was painted today, just so we could see how it looks. The answer: a heckof alot better than that wallpaper did. That and the oak woodwork are looking quite nice together. I’m beginning to dream of what the room will look like with lighter floor and cabinets…….
I think every kitchen with a hand-painted ceiling deserves a hammock for resting between course and ceiling gazing!
