end of the year knitting

I’m seeing 2007 out with an FO.

This is the cabled newsboy cap from Stitch n Bitch Nation.

D#1 does not often request knitted items so when she said she would like this cap, I jumped right on it. I knit it in one day. It was an entire day of knitting where I did absolutely nothing else, stayed in the pj’s, had food delivered to my chair. Not a pretty sight, but still – one day!

Anyway, I love the pattern, and adore the yarn! seriously, I am in love with the yarn. It is the hand dyed worsted from Blue Sky – so soft and the colors are gorgeous! I am planning on making another one of these for D#2. I will be knitting her a brown one as well – the pattern calls for two skeins and in fact it took just over one, so I am trying to be economical and use up all my leftover yarn.

Another year has come and gone and we are all left wondering where the time went. It certainly passes too quickly, but I suppose that’s better than the alternative ;) I wish you all a very happy New Year!

Did you use a plastic mesh sheet for the brim? i THE PATTERN SAYS YOU CAN MAKE IT MORE rASTA BY STITCHING WIHTOUT PLASTIC? Yours does look like a firm brim though.

I love it. My D#1 has a crappy one she bought somewhere. I love it but am always afraid. In 2008, I’m going to go for it and try to do it!!
