Actual Knitting Content!

So, it hasn’t been all fancy nail art around here.  There has been some knitting going on, but it is all shop samples!  Since I already post them on The Village Knitter Facebook page, I wasn’t sure if I would have a re-do here on Ye Olde Blogge.  All that hemming and hawing was wearing me out and since I need to feed the blog, here goes.

We have been working on The Great American Aran Afghan.  It is a monthly class where we work on a square – a lot of fun and laughs and a very low pressure way to tackle a somewhat intimidating, large project!  Here are two of my contributions.  I actually knit the spider one twice while test knitting a yarn …..

ooo la la

Tonight D#2 and I had a good old fashioned Girls’ Night, complete with fancy manicures.  These  nails are Salon Effects that we picked up at Target.  I had seen them on one of our young, hip customers and wanted to give them a try.  I feel younger and hipper already!   Once we got the hang of it, they were easy to apply and I think we did a decent job for our first time.

D#2 is home for a long weekend  – she is working on campus this summer.   We are also doing a bit of birthday celebrating — she turns 21 in a week, so there was shopping and cake!  She will have to wait until next week to have her first beer.

Right before I snapped this picture, the two pugs were standing side by side staring at me and woofing. By the time I grabbed my camera/phone the moment was over. At least Lucy continued to pose!

thanks Cara!

Awhile ago, Cara was updating two of her bathrooms and was no longer using the sinks.  Mr. Boar, who is really sometimes Mr. Wonderful, protested but finally agreed to borrow a friend’s truck and go with me to fetch them.  Honestly I didn’t appreciate how heavy they were until we got there – which is a good thing because then I wouldn’t have begged and the sink would not be sitting so sweetly by my patio door!  The other sink is doing time out by the garden next to the potting bench……
