A couple of knitting friends have asked for my help in guiding them through their first pair of socks. I am now their knitting guru it seems. (I think they are just razzle-dazzled by the blog – don’t look directly in it’s eyes!!)

I have been reading everyone else’s blogs to see if there are any sock knit-alongs up and running. Have turned up one, but it seems to be a more involved pattern than a couple of beginner sock knitters should handle. Let me know if I have missed any or if you would care to join in ours ….. I have to work out the details with these friends and will post them here once that happens. I expect all you knitters out there (and you know who you are!) to post a comment and join in on the sock-it-to-me sock along!!

Spent a wonderful evening working on the second Bucket-o-Chic. A girlfriend came over and she embarked on her first Bucket. I will have pictures uploaded as soon as I take them.

What did Santa bring for the knitter of the house? Two great knitting related gifts! Allow me to introduce you to my new embosser ala Martha. This little gadget is going to be wonderful when I make a knitted or otherwise crafty gift. It will emboss a gift tag/card to indicate that the item is made by hand… and do it with class and good breeding! ;) ilovemarthanomatterwhat

The other most wonderful thing is this new book by Nicky Epstein (also listed in the links on the left side of the page). All sorts of fabulous knitted embellishments! It has pages and pages of leaves, trees, flowers, l cord, edgings countless combinations ….. I was reading it last night and had all sorts of ideas for embellishing the Bucket-o-Chic ….. the mind is awhirl!
