I thought I would share a photo of the Brush Barn where our spinning guild meetings are held. It is a historic building teeming with charm and it has been decorated for the holidays. The barn sits behind the Epenetus Smith Tavern.
Wednesday’s meeting was a ‘spin in’. Usually our guild meetings have a topic that is discussed or demonstrated. With the holidays coming up, the agenda was no agenda. Just a chance to sit and spin! I of course arrived with everything except my roving! ergh. Melissa egged me encouraged me to buy some Rose Gray Alpaca that was for purchase. A member named Tabitha raises alpacas and llamas and often brings along some fiber for sale. We were encouraging her to start an adoption program, much like the one Harlot had posted the other day — you would ‘adopt’ one of the animals for a certain fee and at the end of the year you would have their fleece! If anything comes of this, I will be sure to let you know.
five minutes later: As I am typing this entry, I am locked in the computer room/office. Mr. Poe is in here with me and he is running amok. Despite the various chew toys on the floor, he is most interested in my toes and electrical cords.
I get so involved with persevering through his antics in order to have some computer time, that I completely forget about the rice cooking on the stove! Now the house is filled with the smell of burnt rice and the stove is a friggin mess. Why am I cooking rice? Is it for my own dinner? No, Mo has had an upset stomach (read: puking everywhere).
So here I am blathering on and on about spinning and the charm of our historic building while puppies are drawing blood, other pooches are puking and the house is filling with smoke.
That my friends, is my real life.
