A young ventriloquist is touring the clubs and one night he’s doing
a show in a small town in Arkansas. With his dummy on his knee, he
starts going through his usual dumb blonde jokes when a blonde in the 4th
row stands on her chair and starts shouting:
“I’ve heard enough of your stupid blonde jokes. What makes you
think you can stereotype women that way? What does the color of a person’s
hair have to do with her worth as a human being? Its guys like you who
keep women like me from being respected at work and in the community and
from reaching our full potential as a person. Because you and your kind
continue to perpetuate discrimination against not only blondes, but
women in general, and all in the name of humor!”
The embarrassed ventriloquist begins to apologize, and the blonde
yells, “You stay out of this, mister! I’m talking to that little shit on
your knee.”

The Boar and I had a wonderful time at Rhinebeck this weekend! It has been far too long since he and I have taken a weekend away – it was nice to be reminded of why we fell in love in the first place! The weather was very cooperative – the air was cool and crisp, the leaves were beautiful and the rain held off until night time.

I have spent the better part of the morning putting together a photo album – check it out, it’s in the left hand column. You will even see a picture of my Boar making nice with some sheep! My camera battery is officially dead, so stash acquisition pictures will have to wait.

Our plan was to hit the road for the festival on Friday after we had dropped the girls off at various after school engagements. Once we got them situated we took a detour and bought one of these:

I still can’t believe we did it! Boar and I were in the market for a new car. His car is getting old and the timing is right. Of course, we went into it with the thought of making a more practical choice. We took the mini on a test drive and he fell in love with it. I have always loved the way they look. We take delivery on Wednesday – I will need to get to a nearby parking lot straight away to practice driving. It is a six speed and it has been over 15 years since I have driven a stick shift.

We were laughing the whole way to Rhinebeck – giddy with the thrill of a new toy and making plans for road trips!
