You have a lot going for you, but most people will
only remember you for one thing, and a lot of
them will try to copy it. They’ll all suck at
it, though. Besides, you’ve got better stuff.

What band from the 80s are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

who the hell is Soft Cell? thanks to Beancounter for the link – I would like to point out that Pam also didn’t recognize her results!

These are some before and after felting pictures. Both patterns came from Knitty. Peggy finished her French Market Bag and my very own Fuzzy Feet were all set for a dip in the yarn jacuzzi! The market bag felted right away in about five minutes …. my slippers however, took their sweet time. As I kept checking their progress, more things were thrown into the machine ….. first a towel, then some tennis balls and finally I put the tennis balls inside of the slippers! I thought that they would felt instantly since this is the yarn that I spun myself. I wonder if the overtwisting in some areas led to it taking longer ….. In any case, here are my slippers all set for the chill! I am thinking of giving that French Market Bag a try — how nice did that turn out??

Ricki also had some show-and-tell of the non-felting king. Here she is wearing her ….. um, I guess you would call it a tunic. What would you call it? Tunic doesn’t seem quite right. Whatever you call it, our Ricki proves once and for all that knitting can be sexy! Pa070003Pa070005

The weekend is shaping up to be a busy one! Hope you all have a wonderful Columbus Day!

By rights, this sweater should have been finished days ago. Life here at Purlingswine got in the way of all good intentions and knitting time was limited. But here it is in all its glory ….. Daughter #2 is happy with the results. She also liked the button I used — this was selected out of a giant tin of buttons that I inherited from my Grandmother. My Grammy was a highly resourseful woman who let nothing go to waste. There are all kinds of buttons in this tin — so many salvaged from garments and strung together with some thread. Come to think of it, all the buttons in the tin are used – hope the one I picked for Daughter #2 has good karma attached!

In other fiber related news — I am going to felt my Fuzzy Feet today. My knitting friend Peggy has generously offered to let me share her top loading washer with her today — she has finished some knitted bags that need to be felted so we are having a felting festival at her house later on today.
