The Daughters had a successful first day of school yesterday. Daughter #1 is a senior — it is hard to believe that she will be off at college this time next year. sniff, sniff Daughter #2 is a freshman and had a good first day of high school. She only got lost once – lo and behold her sister came along at that moment and turned her around. It’s good to know they can be sweet every now and again!

On the knitting front: I have been busy finishing various projects in order to clear my schedule for more spinning. The poncho is off the needles and is awaiting a photo opportunity. Banff is 10 rows away from being done.

I got all of this done while sitting in front of the boob tube last night. What was I watching? a Nova special, a fascinating documentary, perhaps an Indie flick??

all wrong! I was engaged in one of my guilty pleasures ….. it was the premiere of The Real World Philadelphia. anyone else out there who is enthralled by this show?

My darlings! I started a post yesterday, but was stymied by our computer system. Did you miss me?

Daughter #2 got a laptop during the summer. She is in love with her laptop. She uses it everyday and is working on her second novel. She also goes to music sites, does some lame thing called Neo-pets and all kinds of other things.

She is single-handedly bringing our computers to their kness — I realize that a larger message in there, but I don’t want to think about it! My sweet, computer savvy Boar is making everything right, but these things take time.

Without having the computer to take up so much of my time (and it is amazing how much time I spend reading blogs! I tell myself it’s educational.) I got quite a lot done.

Here are some pics of the fruits of my loom (I know it’s not a loom, but it made me giggle to say it!). If you look closely you will see that I still need to work on maintaining an even draw. You will also see that I used the Boar’s wrench set to weight the skeins …. I thought I would hear about that one, but he didn’t seem to have a problem with it. He usually gets a tad cranky when I use his tools.

I am thinking about making some felted slippers alá Knitty with this stuff …..

Aquarius: The wheels of circumstance are spinning on their own right now, and you’re just going to go along for the ride, whether you want to or not. You may feel somewhat out of sync with what you are doing. Even if you kick and scream and say you don’t want to go, it’s too late. You’re already involved. You might as well save your energy and make the best of what is happening.

How can the stars know that my wheel has been spinning??

And of course, the tragic circumstance of my nail polish encounter proves that I have been out of sync.

small confession: I have been kicking and screaming.

This stuff is like magic!
