It’s official, I have become a cliché. Not only am I a knitter, but now I am a knitter who makes tea cozies!
While searching about for a poncho pattern, I made this sheep tea cozy. Let them laugh, let them make fun ….. I ♥ him. If your teapot is jonesin for a jumper, then click here for the pattern.
I have also started the poncho. After much blustering about (metaphorical blustering. Bluster implies leaving a wake in your path, perhaps some dead leaves flurrying about — all of my blustering was done online … in the internet vacuum) I finally settled on this pattern. Note to self: when using a wicked, mohair blend, be bold, be brave, be sure. Ripping this stuff back is a bitch. So here are some pictures of my progress – please witness my use of lovely stitch markers. These beauties were hand crafted by my dear friend Peggy!

I’m a Grandma!! It’s a wonderful thing when you watch your children grow. My father once told me that one way to know you were a good parent is to see how your children raise their children. I have been a very good parent. And now, I am a grandma —- shall I be a Nana or Grammy? I think Grammy. I hope she lets me babysit once in awhile. I can’t wait to spoil her rotten.
What?? How can it be that I am a grammy? I am a knitting grammy. My friend Claire is a knitter. When I met her she was something of a lapsed knitter — I adopted her, or she adopted me. I became her knitting mentor, her fiber mother as it were. I am proud to announce that she has completed her first pair of socks!
And now, my little Claire, whom I have raised from a pup, since she was knee high to a grass hopper, since she was cutting her teeth ….. ooh, I’m getting a bit misty …… well anyway, she is a knitting mentor herself!
Over the weekend we got together to do a bit of knitting and were joined by another friend Amy who wanted to learn. I think Claire was a bit surprised to find herself being the teacher ….. it’s good for her, she’s ready
