Housewife Fever

symptoms: dreaming about cleaning products.

I got hooked on this stuff. At first, our relationship was wonderful. Shower Shine and me were the perfect couple – he made my life so much easier, so much cleaner, so much more attractive. He even smelled good.

Now, he’s playing hard to get.

Where have you gone, my darling?

They’re not knitting pictures exactly ….. I have been hard at work on Banff, and she is almost done. Halfway through the last sleeve – yipee! Then I will block it, seam it and knit up the neck – and perhaps with a bit of luck, I will love the way it looks on me and wear it all the time.

Anyway, since I am nearing the end of Banff, my thoughts have turned to my next project. I’m coming up empty!! This is where you come in ….. see this stuff in the pictures? Can anyone tell me why I bought it? Does anyone have an idea for what to make from it? It is Patons Divine, the pictures isn’t showing the colors quite right ….. and the link isn’t doing that much better. As you can see, I have 3 balls of it. I know I can always do the hat/scarf thing, but am mulling over the Frontier Hat. Here are my concerns:

1. the yarn for the Frontier Hat is more furry and this Divine stuff is more fuzzy, therefore the spirit of the raccoon cap will be violated.
2. I don’t have a firm commitment from any young boys that they would actually wear this thing ….. actually, I haven’t even asked ….. if you have a boy and know me personally, would your son wear this?? and what about the fuzz vs. fur factor???

What to do with this stuff ….. this is your homework assignment, you have until Friday to hand in your answers.

going to the chapel

What a great time we had at my cousin’s wedding! It has been a very long time since the extended family has gotten together to celebrate. My Aunt & Uncle (parents of the groom) had set us at the ‘kids’ table — it is a sorry comment on our family that the youngest ‘kid’ at the table was 34! We had a lot of laughs telling funny stories about our younger days — we all grew up within spitting distance of each other, so there are many overlapping stories. It is funny though how one will remember a certain thing and a different person will either have totally forgotten it, or have a different memory all together. Thankfully Daughters #1 & #2 were not seated at our table, so they didn’t hear too many awful things!

And if seeing that the youngest of our bunch is now in his 30’s (actually the very youngest cousin is in his late 20’s, but he wasn’t there) wasn’t enough to make a body feel old, then seeing one of the ushers flirting with the Darling Daughters was!! Thought the Boar was going to have a heart attack!

in tomorrow’s purlingswine: knitting content with pictures!!
