A friend sent me the following quote. I don’t know who said it, but I am glad they did! I call it The Flume of Life:

“Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but
rather to skid in sideways, cigar in one hand, favorite beverage
in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and
screaming WOO HOO . . . What a Ride!”

Because this is a knitting blog – and only for that reason – I will post a small bit about my knitting.

I have been knitting. Just not much. There are a thousand reasons why – but mostly it’s been too hot and I’ve been too busy.

Daughter #1 participated in an early morning riding clinic today. I took Banff along, thinking I could get loads of progress made while I watched. One might assume that there were drawbacks to knitting near livestock – manure, hay, flies etc. And those indeed are some hazards. However, today’s biggest speedbump came in the form of one small barn kitten. The barn calls her Hambone but I have decided to name her Purl. She was persistent – cute, but relentless. In two hourse I managed to churn out a paltry 7 rows.

We are leaving for an extended weekend tomorrow and there will be no kittens in the car. Hopefully I will have a better progress report for you!

Of course, it would not be a PurlingSwine post without some reference to Beancounter’s blog, so here it is:
