Eagles Eagles1

I come from a very talented family.  Look at the artistic abilitiy of my cousin!  That is her son Owen in the picture on the left.

I grew up in suburban Philadelphia and most of my family still lives there — they will be cheering for the home team tonight!

I think all the cool bloggers are ganging up on me.

You know when the cool kids tell you they think you’re cool and interesting too, but in the meantime they are making you do crazy things and you do them because you don’t want to disappoint the cool kids? You want them to think that you are indeed cool and interesting, you want to believe it yourself?

So yesterday I got ‘tagged’ for the movie meme.  That whole ‘tagged’ verb wierds me out – remind me to tell you about my kindergarten terror of being the cheese that stands alone.  Christ I hated that game.

Anyway, so I get picked for the movie thing.  This is really not such a problem — I do in fact, feel cool when it comes to movies.  I am a regular customer at our local Cinema Arts Center.  I am something of a movie snob — I love subtitles!

Now however, there is an ill wind blowing here at Chez Swine.  I have been tagged for a music meme.

People who know me in ‘real’ life will attest to the fact that I surround myself with music — I have played and continue to play piano, cello, harmonica – I have dabbled with the flute  Our satellite television gets all kinds of music channels that I listen to.  I know the words to many songs — many, many songs that I will sing with the slightest provocation.

But to answer questions about music?  Which CD’s have I bought?  Music files?  I really don’t know — I just turn on the radio.  Behind this internet curtain, there is indeed no wizard, no cool, interesting blogger —

Movie Meme

It is fitting that I was tagged by Two Purls for this movie meme, after doing the usual chores around here, I have every intention of starting my Fry Up and watching Maria Full of Grace.

1. The last movie you went to see in a theater:   Series of Unfortunate Events I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed this movie more than I expected to.  I like Jim Carey very much – he was excellent in The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind as well as The Truman Show.

2. The last movie you watched at homeMa Vie En Rose  I liked this movie!  It does have subtitles, which makes it a bit harder to watch while knitting.  Il Postino – another great one with subtitles

3. How many movies do you own?  way too many – these are mostly movies belonging to Daughters #1 and #2 and a few sci-fi for the Boar.  In my own personal collection, there are two – Chicken Run and Chocolat.

4. Got Netflix (or a similar service)?  I have posted many many times about my deep and abiding love of Netflix. I won’t emabarass myself any further.

5. List five movies you adore (or mean a lot to you.) About Schmidt  Chicken Run Chocolat  Best in Show I know this is only four — I am sure there are more, it’s just that my mind is slipping and I can’t remember any more! Fargo was good, Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine, Station Agent, Dogville ……

6. What’s in the Netflix queue?  Napoleon Dynamite  Rabbit Proof Fence  Harold and Maude

recipe for upping your blog stats

  1. buy a Mini cooper
  2. post a picture
  3. have Wendy fall in love with it
  4. get into a wee accident with aforementioned mini cooper
  5. have Wendy write about it in her blog!

I am absolutely stunned — my stats are through the roof!  Wow!  hope you like it and will come back — I really do knit (sometimes) too, not as well or as prolifically as Wendy …. but I do have a cool car.

And for any of you who lost sleep over my Four Lies and One Truth post — I cannot ride a unicycle!  (and bless all your hearts who thought I didn’t have varicose veins)
