Other knitters may razzle dazzle you with their Starmore designs, Kiogu yarns, hand-dyed & spun fibers but here at PurlingSwine, we are proud to present Little Red Mittens done in Woolease! :) at long last my epic struggle is over …..

the saga continues ….

If you counted up the amount of stitches I have knit over the past two weeks (excluding this past weekend) I think you would have enough to make 8 mittens. Why then, do I have 1&#189? For a full and detailed report of mitten misadventures, please refer to the post of January 21st. So what more could happen? This is a legitimate question.

Today, as promised, I stayed away from the computer and got down to knitting business. I was in the middle of the second mitten at the point where the thumb gore is on a holder and I am cruising my way toward the decreases at the top. It occurs to me that I failed to read the K3 rows even part when I did mitten #1. oy vay! And it also occurs to me that in increasing to make the thumb gore I should have used a bar increase rather than the row below increase – those tiny little increase holes were starting to bug me. I don’t know when it happened, but it seems I have become quite the perfectionist So you can see how it happened that I ripped both of those mittens back and reknit them. One is completed and the other is &#189 done.

I wonder if I could get booted from the Fiber Arts & Knitting Bloggers Webring for crap like this ….

I know that certain promises were made regarding pictures and bday bounty …. here — take a quiz instead.

I have been completely obsessed with the design of this site. Every free moment has been spent at the computer. I have taken no pictures. I have knit not a single iota – not one k, not one p, not one co or bo let alone any k1slstpsso! PurlingSwine has me in thrall!

Friends & Relations don’t understand. They think I have lost perspective. They think I am crazy. I see how they look when I speak of my blog, I see how they shift their eyes away. They think I don’t notice their sidelong glances nor hear their sniggering. They have taken to teasing and calling me purlingswine they don’t realize that I like that name! They think this is a phase and that I will grow out of it. They are wrong. They just have never had a blog to call their own, so how could they know? I really can’t blame them. Once you have your own blog you just understand. I really feel sorry for them.

Tomorrow we are in for some lousy weather. The pantry is full, the house is clean — I will get some knitting done …. and the minute they leave the room, I will blog about it!
