Some pictures of the recently completed socks together with house projects. I attempted to take a picture of the socks with one wall of the den — the color does not photograph very well. The wall behind the sofa is a deep olive/tan/taupe sort of color, the other three walls are in the same color family but two shades lighter. I will try to remember to take a pic on a sunny day, maybe that will work better.
The other photo is of my socks by the new tub in the gutted bathroom! I am in love with this contractor — he is wonderful — he calls, he shows up on time, he cleans up after himself, he does good work (sounds like the perfect date!). If any of you live on Long Island and need some work done on the house, let me know and I will give you his number!
You would think that I would have gotten more knitting done yesterday considering I was stuck at home with workmen all day. Oh, and nothing else to do — couldn’t clean (why bother, there is dust everywhere from the job), can’t paint a room with all the dust in the air, can’t work outside in the garden with snow on the ground. I spent a great amount of time shuffling dogs from one holding area to another, to keep them happy, yet out of the way. This was not easily achieved. The system that I finally hit on was to leave the big dogs alone, they were fine and weren’t bothering the men. And put the little ones in their harnesses and on their leashes. If any of you own dogs, you can imagine keeping your dog leashed beside you all day long — they were so confused — usually the leash coming out is a good thing! poor little knuckleheads
I am beginning to suspect that I am just not as prolific as some other knitters I know. Other sisters of the skein are churning out masterpieces while I plod along on plain socks. I am not a beginner knitter, I have been knitting for the better part of ….. well, years!(in honor of President’s Day) scores of years!!
I just tell myself that knitting is a verb — it is about the process not the product!! in case studies, the preceding mantra is 50% effective
