A marriage of the modern and the ancient …. in my internet cruisings, I found a link to Pepys’ Diary! How cool is that? My education has serious gaps — the first time I remember hearing of Pepys was in the book 84 Charring Cross Road by Helene Hanff. God I loved that book – and just happened to catch the movie on tv last week.

Oh boy! You must look at the book, Samuel Pepys: the Unequalled Self, by Claire Thomalin. I just finished it – she is almost as good a storyteller as Pepys. It is a biography of great depth, but full of entertainment as well. If you are a Pepys fan, or are interested in learning more about him, wow, what a great read.
Outstanding film! I did catch it early in the AM last week. You are amazing; you are beginning to scare me alittle. Alittle too much similarity.
