I took economics (I can’t remember now if it was Intro to Micro or Macro – does it really matter?) in college to fulfill the math requirement and barely made it through. The combination of math and philosophy brought me to my knees. I understand basic concepts — the whole suppy vs. demand thing. This is beyond my comprehension! Maybe I skipped class that day when the Professor went over the part where better employees+better service=bad idea
With all my years in school, I never took economics. Maybe that explains why I still think that the idea that companies can continue to post hefty gains (and continually increasing profits to shareholders) year after year without exploiting someone is unrealistic. I just find the concepts of social consciousness and uninhibited growth are incompatible and ultimately unsustainable. Sigh.
I’m in the wrong busines………..
