What a weekend! Here is a picture of what we did on Sunday. That is daughter #2 on Spencer. We were at a schooling event.

While we were there, I took pictures of my latest ‘quickie’. woo-hoo! you guys have filthy minds!!

We made a day trip to PA on Monday for an large family party. These are pictures of a berry hat I knit for my cousin’s new baby. Production on The-Tied-Up-Tee was halted while I cranked it out.
strawberry_hat1strawberry_hatIt is a Fiber Trends Pattern called A Berry Cute Hat. I used yarn from my stash – I believe it is a wool/acrylic blend. I also have their pumpkin hat pattern which I would have preferred to make, but had no orange in the stashaster. I am planning on making a few more of these – it occurs to me that it would be a good thing to have a few baby gifts at the ready rather than engaging in last minute, frantic knitting. The hat was met with rave reviews.
The recipient slept through the whole party, so I didn’t take any pics of her wearing it — it is much too big at the moment anyway.

The Boar and I travelled by train for the day. We did not want to battle traffic. It was a great way to travel and added to the adventure. We were however, lucky to get seats on the trip home. The train was packed and a couple of people were standing the whole way from Philadelphia to Penn Station. If I was one of them, I would not be happy. I got a lot of knitting done. Finished sleeve #1 of the T-U-T and am 1/3 of the way up sleeve #2. Then onto blocking and seaming!

The party that we traveled for was in honor of cousin’s 40th wedding anniversary. They are actually my 1st cousins-once-removed/second cousins — whatever — I never did have a grasp on the difference. They are my mother’s first cousins. It was terrific to see everyone. Despite the crappy weather, all were having fun!

  1. Great riding pic. And I love the berry hat. Sounds like a great trip. I love train travel. Kevin, Cameron and Gracie went to Baltimore by train last summer. They loved it. Owen loves to look (obsessively) at trains but will not ride them. Anyway…nice use of the word stashaster.

  2. Glad to hear you and the Boar made it home safe and sound! As always it was great to see the both of you. You were wise to take the train. On our way home from PA we briefly experienced the bumper to bumper traffic on the Jersey Turnpike heading north from the PA extension. It was probably tied up all the way to New York.

  3. Oh my Gawd, this is SO adorable! I want one!!!! Make me one, Puleeeze!!!!

I love those pumpkin/fruit hats too, I think the stem is a riot.
