it’s summertime! is the livin’ easy?

It’s hot & humid. The dust in my house has turned to grime. Thank God for cordless telephones – you can distract yourself with friends while you clean and trick yourself into thinking that you have a cleaning person. (it’s my fantasy world, leave me alone!)

If you think you are going to be working on Banff – which is coming along quite nicely, thank you very much – you had better turn on the air conditioning. Why didn’t I knit Banff first and then the Tied-up-Tee? That cotton yarn is much more condusive to steamy knitting!

Speaking of the TuT – here she is in almost all of her glory. In order to be truly tied up, I need to get to a notions store and buy some leather lacing. The pattern calls for I-cord laces. I didn’t like the looks of that and did some research. Consulting Montse Stanley’s Knitter’s Handbook, I gave the picot cord a whirl. That is a great technique and I’m glad to have learned it, but still not good for this sweater. So it is to the store for leather lacing. Since this sweater will be worn mostly, if not entirely, with jeans and boots by daughter #1, it will be a good thing.
