I am proud to say that Carmel, my friend the new-knitter-who-sold-her-knitting-soul for a pumpkin hat, has become a confident and creative knitter in her own right! She has been cranking out various fruit caps for all the new babies in her life. One of these is was an apple hat. This is a simple, rolled brim cap with a brown stem at the top and an appliqu&#233 leaf – it can be found on the Knitlist. Anyway, Carmel preferred the double-stranded rolled brim and increases of the Fiber Trends patterns — thought they looked cuter and would stay in place better.

Guess what she did? She merged the two patterns! Remember my peeps, that this is a woman who a mere month ago couldn’t imagine following a pattern let alone striking out on her own and changing one!

let’s hear a big round of applause!

  1. Thank you thank you thank you for the glowing review of netflix. It pushed me over the edge! Already watched (and posted a GLOWING review of) my first flix. :)

And to Carmel: WOO! WOO! {clap clap clap} You GO girl!

  2. Yay! It always warms the heart when I hear that new knitters are experimenting and discovering that they can do whatever they want with the craft :-)
