Do you live within the New York City area?
I am on Long Island and am wondering if anyone else has noticed something …… The Channel 11 News Team. Am I turning into an old fart, or do these people look like they all just came from, or are on their way to, a singles’ bar? Do you get the same feeling I do – that none of them really care about the news as much as they care about getting laid?
*note – by using the crude term ‘laid’ I am proving that I am not an old fart. Old farts seldom curse, and old lady farts rarely, if ever use base language. Ergo, I am au courrant, and my thesis stands….. if I am not an old fart, then these people are just looking for a piece of … ahem … ass.

It seems to be a trend in the news that ratings are the bottom line and the quality of the news isn’t. I noticed on CNN that the news anchors are adding personal comments about a topic instead of staying impartial and they are being so chatty that they seem to be goofing around. And if you are easy on the eyes you are more likely to be hired then some hardened looking reporter. Heck in Russia they have a news channel where the female anchors strip during their broadcast! Supposedly an American cable station has copied this. SICKENING.
I prefer the term “geezer” to “old fart”. I know that it’s usually used on guys, but why should they have all the fun? Am over in Washington state, but I’d bet that our anchors look pretty much like your anchors, except a bit more middle class.
