what’s for dinner?

CrockpotI have no idea how long this has been on the market, but I first saw a commercial for it the other night.

I really don’t understand the thinking behind this product. If your day is so hectic that you cannot pull dinner together, why not just buy a fully cooked, frozen beef stew? Wouldn’t that be even more convenient?

Am I missing something?

here’s a little crockpot tip: Crockpots have ceramic liners that are removable. If you have to get out of the house early in the morning and won’t have time to do the whole crockpot thing – put it all together the night before. If you like, keep the meat portions separate. Pop the liner in the fridge overnight. Pour yourself a cup-o-joe in the morning and set your dinner to cook!

  1. Oh, I bet Joanne could find a way to destroy this meal in five easy minutes! Pots cringe in her path; her kitchen shudders when it hears her coming. Worty can burn ICE! But,hey, that’s OK, cause she’s my best pal, and I wuv her!

  2. Yeah, this product kills me too. Because crock pot meals are SO hard to begin with – toss ingredients in pot. Turn pot on. 11 hours later, serve.

TOO HIGH MAINTENENCE – Must. Make. Easier!

    Please.

Although if you do put the liner in the fridge, you might want to take it out before your shower, and not put turn the thing on until you’re walking out the door, since mine is ceramic and won’t be thrilled with cold to hot…
