savage beast

Would you like to hear about all the trouble I am having with my new project?  How I have cast on and knit 121 stitches for 6 rows at least five times now???  How I am not sure if the yarn I am using will even be appropriate for the pattern, so that even if I do somehow manage to get this pattern through my thick skull, it might be a no-go anyway?  ergh.

What?  You don’t want to hear my belly aching?  You don’t come to my site to listen to a grown woman whine and carry on?

Why do you come to purlingswine?

For the poetry of course!!

Here is a sonnet that daughter #1 wrote for her creative writing class ….. all you teachers out there – what grade would you give this?

Oh what a dog a pug can surely be!

Her moods, like summer winds, blow in and out.

Her beauty is for all of us to see

And of her place in hearts there is no doubt.

She spends her days just basking in the sun.

Most potent of creatures, her love is fierce

And then when your allegiance she has won,

Your heart with Cupid’s arrow will be pierced!

The pug will hold you in her thrall for life.

Be warned, loving the pug will be a curse.

A journey with this dog is filled with strife.

Your heart belongs to her and not reverse!

Sweet misery will hold you to the floor
And you, the fool, will beg for nothing more.

  1. Oh, without a doubt, that’s an A – how very sweet!

And yes, please whine about your knitting… I could use a break from all the political whining (from both sides!) Is anyone still knitting?
