Although knitting socks has been a pleasurable project – I am glad it is a hobby and not a necessity!

Some actual knitting content!
Here are some pics of the socks I have been working on. I tried to get a close up of the yarn – it is a bit blurry, but I thought I would post it anyway. I had downloaded a sock pattern from the internet that would take your swatch gauge, foot/calf/ankle measurement and then generate a personal pattern. The directions for the heel were not very clear – whoever wrote the pattern used abbreviations that I had never seen before. SKP
I looked in various knitting reference books to see if this was something new and came up with nothing. So onward to other sock patterns where I discovered that SKP is supposed to stand for slip one, knit one, passover. Once I got past that it was smooth sailing. I am enjoying making socks so much that I am going to order some of that self striping yarn from Elann.
Has anyone out there ever tried knitting socks using two circular needles?

warm fuzzies
check out what Julia at Knitting History is up to. She has excellent directions and pictures on how to line mittens with roving for extra warmth – it seems fairly simple (as most nightmares I enter into do)….. dare I jump back on that horse again??
