My family has been sharing a wicked head cold amongst themselves over the past couple of weeks. Until now, I have manage not to be a part of this circle. This is not a good week to be under the weather. I am having everyone over for Christmas Eve dinner…..hopefully we won’t be ordering pizza! perhaps a dose of the cure…
are you wondering why I was fulling my swatch in the kitchen sink rather than in the washing machine like most knitters? I have recently become the proud owner of a front loading washer. I love this washer, it is marvelous – efficient & quiet, and it looks great! Unlike a top loader you cannot interrupt the washing cycle whenever you want to — this would lead to flooding, mopping and a gnashing of teeth. As my patience came to an end (aren’t knitters supposed to be wonderfully patient people?) and I threw the swatch into the mixer it occurred to me that I will not be able to do this with the entire garment. So I am relegated to the sink, wondering if I should buy a washboard.
It has become my tradition to name certain of the finer members of my pig collection. Some of these pigs seem to demand a name and it helps me to remember when & where I got them. The title picture on this webpage is of my pig Martin who sits on my front lawn. Here is a picture of the newest addition to my collection — and we shall call him Seibert!
