what’s for dinner?

CrockpotI have no idea how long this has been on the market, but I first saw a commercial for it the other night.

I really don’t understand the thinking behind this product. If your day is so hectic that you cannot pull dinner together, why not just buy a fully cooked, frozen beef stew? Wouldn’t that be even more convenient?

Am I missing something?

here’s a little crockpot tip: Crockpots have ceramic liners that are removable. If you have to get out of the house early in the morning and won’t have time to do the whole crockpot thing – put it all together the night before. If you like, keep the meat portions separate. Pop the liner in the fridge overnight. Pour yourself a cup-o-joe in the morning and set your dinner to cook!

they’re out to get me!

Pa070011 My Fuzzy Feet are trying to kill me.

Don’t tell me that I’m crazy. Don’t even suggest that I am paranoid. Those Fuzzy Feet have it in for me.

Perhaps it was when I overtwisted the yarn while spinning. Or all the times I ignored it. It could definitely be that scalding hot water bath I put them through. Maybe my feet stink and they hate their job.

The only thing I know for sure is that those Fuzzy Feet hate me.

Everytime I go up or down the stairs they sneakily slide ever so much off of my feet and try to trip me up. Every single time. They are trying to break my neck.

Well, those Fuzzy Feet have underestimated their opponent.

I am on to them and now when I go up or down the stairs I am sure to hold my big toes extended upward and backward towards my head and in this way I provide my own hook to keep those Fuzzy Feet where they belong. hah!

Ingenious!

with a song in my heart….

Before I post this entry, I must clarify two very important things ….

1. I really do have a wonderful husband. He is a hardworking, considerate and kind person.

2. I also have two wonderful daughters. They always do their best in school, are generally tidy creatures and rarely give me any real trouble.

So, shall I continue?

I spent the entire day yesterday at a horse-related event with the girls. And I do mean the entire day … we arrived at 10 am and got home at 7 pm. It was all very nice, gorgeous weather etc. but I have had my fill of the great outdoors.

Today another horse related event was taking place. Again, gorgeous weather and gorgeous surroundings. My darling Boar offered to be the parent in charge which freed up my morning for the glamor that is cleaning the house and Costco shopping. After the horse related event, Boar was taking them off for eye doctor appointments. All three of them have eyesight issues. He is in charge of their vision – this works out because he also wears contacts and it forces him to keep his own appointments as well.

They arrive home from the horse stuff and have a bit of time before the eye dr’s. He has spent approximately 4 hours with them – he has had it and so have they. What could have happened – what calamity?

Nothing out of the ordinary — just the usual stuff of teenaged sisters.

And what of them? What has Boar done to aggravate them?

Nothing that I don’t do — the usual reminding them of things that need to get done and general nagging.

What kind of horrible person am I that this gives me a little thrill?

Why does it do my heart good to see the three people I love best in the world being fed up with each other?

For the most part The Boar and the Girls have a mutual admiration society — to them he is the king and he thinks they are angels.

Of course, they hardly know each other – it’s all infatuation.
