multitasking

I’m so old, I can laugh, cough, sneeze and pee & knit all at the same time.

there will be a fair amount of multi tasking going on around here today – knitting, cleaning, shopping,  cooking.  fingers crossed that I don’t have to add bailing to the list – we are having a deluge here!

Do you realize that Rhinebeck is this weekend?

That is at the end of this week people!

Not only that, but Vicki will be arriving on Thursday.

The original plan was for Vicki to stay with Cara.  But Cara is a Jewish girl in need of a palm pilot —- she forgot that Yom Kippur is on Thursday. She didn’t forget exactly – just thought it was Thursday to Friday instead of Wednesday to Thursday.  If Cara had a palm pilot, then she could download this.  pretty cool!  I’ll let her play with mine this weekend – maybe that will convince her.

So what does this all mean?  Vicki is coming to my house!!

and what does that really mean?

time to clean!

do you think if I clean the carpet today that the dogs will understand and will cease with their little ‘accidents’?

The ‘usual suspects’ with are urging you to get crazy, and entirely let go. To actually ‘go,’ in fact, anywhere — wherever the road leads the entire pack of you. Does this mean you should pull out all the stops and follow their advice? Well, if you want to and you can, without any career or work-related repercussions, what’s the use fighting it? Get it out of your system. There’s only one thing that you worry about: being eighty-five and wondering what might have been if you’d only ….

do you guys think this means we’ll all end up with matching tatoos?

whaddyasay ….. sheep, yarn ….. the possibilities are endless.

Halycon Days are Here Again….

One of my handiest knitting accessories won’t fit in my knitting bag — or any knitting bag for that matter.

It’s my copier.

I am one of those people who would never, ever write in a book.  (although I get a secret thrill when I come across a page that has someone else’s writing on it)  This includes pattern books.   With the copier, and in my own home no less, I am free to scribble everywhere — and if it gets to full of my knitting hieroglyphics, I can always make another copy.

Another faboo thing is the enlargement feature.

Yeah, I said it.  And I think you know what I mean.

Engorge enlarging charts!

Through the magic of enlargement, I was able to make my BWA Halycon somewhat portable!  With these nice giant charts, I don’t have to concentrate quite so much when reading them.  And because it was a copy of the original pattern, I took a scissors, cut out each individual chart and am now able to use a smaller magnet board.

In the past two days, I have knit 16 rows!

Today is overcast, muggy and dreary.

What does this have to do with anything?

This sweater does not photograph well with the flash on my camera – it seems to drain out all the detail of the cables (I think because the yarn has a heathered look to it).  But I was forced into an indoor photo shoot.  So here you have:

  1. large view with anniversary flowers
  2. focused shot with no visible detail
  3. fuzzy shot with some detail
