check out what my good friend surprised me with today! I was raised in PA, am of Irish/English decent and have been accused of being very ‘white bread’! What’s wrong with white-bread?? I love white bread!
crafty stuff
This is what I did yesterday instead of knitting. It is a very rustic flag to hang on my garden gate. I don’t think it shows up very well in the picture, but I made stars out of wire and painted them blue. I am not sure how much I like this project and it is receiving mixed reviews from the family. Inspiration struck when I was pruning a dogwood.
While I was out there taking snapping a picture, I thought you might also enjoy one of the roses. Please don’t email me asking questions about caring for roses. The picture is deceiving – this rose is growing to spite me. I bought it, I planted it, I cut off dead branches. That is the full extent of my rose knowledge!
As most of you know, here at Purlingswine we spend endless hours laughing at/with our pug Lucy. Yesterday was especially funny. This picture was taken a few years ago. It encapsulates the hazards of the curly tail. Lucy had been walking through my weedy garden and got some stuck in her tail. Her tail is so tightly curled that these fronds stayed in place until we pulled them loose! I have posted this pic because it is the only one that shows her tail.
Yesterday was blazing hot and humid here. We were in the pool and brought our Pug in for a dip. If you own a pug, you know that the breed are notoriously bad swimmers. We held onto her the whole time. Even so, she was paddling. As her legs were working under the water, her tail came uncurled above the water and started rotating in a counter clockwise motion! A pug-rudder! I laughed so hard that I almost peed in the pool!
