I had a fantastic time yesterday. Beautiful places & beautiful people. Plus, sun ripened tomatoes! What could be better than that?
I came home full of inspiration and surprisingly, not the fibery kind. Behold, my next project.
Luckily Boar is home this week and will be able to walk me through my first one.
Did you hear that? The way I said first one? I am full of wood shop self confidennce – I want lots of these!
These are my absolute favorite outdoor chairs. So comfy.
You’re going to build chairs!?! Now that’s cool. We want play by play please.
Woohoo! This is right up my alley! I was just downstairs playing with my drill press. I have an unreasonable affection for my drill press. Go you!
Be careful of splinters.
That’s a really pretty chair. Details! Are you using recycled wood (the sample looks like it)? I am impatient!
You just never cease to amaze me.
I dated a guy once who was born and raised in the Adirondacks — he promised me an Adirondack chair, but I dumped him before he made good on the promise. Come to think of it, I dumped the shipyard engineer before he finished all the work I had him scheduled to do in my condo. (Repainting my living room is SO like overhauling a ship engine.)
I need to think ahead a little more. If I promise not to dump you, will you make me a chair?
Just kidding.
LOL about the recycled wood question.
Just very, very old and weathered wood. It takes years of forgetting to take them off the deck for the winter, to get that PATINA.
If you figure out how to make them, you have to PROMISE a tutorial. I’d like to make a lot more of em. Did you see the love seat?
I am missing my buddies big time and today I did not get any tomatoes and cheese as an act of mourning. Ate marshmallows instead. xoxox Kay
I love the chair. Are you going to build one? Wow you are multi-talented.
You’re going to MAKE a chair? Jay-sus.
Is it bad that I got as far as “I’m full of wood…” and started snickering like a 13-year old?
You’re going to BUILD a chair? Yikes, I thought at first you meant you were going to paint the one in the picture. Building is in a whole different universe from painting. And from me.
