There has been a flurry of activity here. D#1 arrived home on Saturday night. It is hard to believe that her sophomore year of college is behind her. She leaves this evening for a 16 day trip to Greece and Bulgaria! She is in her school’s chamber choir and the group is traveling and performing. There has been much unpacking. laundry and repacking. I am thrilled for her, but also a bit nervous. and yes, for those of you who knew me when – now I know how my own mother felt when I spent 6 months in Germany! D#1 is beyond excited and raring to go. As means of comfort she keeps reminding me that she’s practically 20 …… hmmmm, does that make me feel better or worse?

let’s divert my attention, shall we? that pig pitcher is among the first things in my collection. It is an early piece of Nicholas Mosse pottery. There used to be a matching bowl, but that hit the floor years ago.

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I am pleased to report that we did not have a repeat of last year’s Scampi Shame. I was treated to a dinner out and a spa gift certificate!

  1. Sort of like a Catch 22, isn’t it? We want them to spread their wings but just not that far. I’m sure she will have an exhilerating experience and be proud of you for not trying (like we even have a say even though we think we do) hold her back. Glad to hear your Mother’s Day was good. I look forward to my AM pig report.

  2. Glad your mother’s day was nice and even gladder to hear that you got what you wanted for dinner. I’ll be wishing safe travel thoughts for your daughter and calm nerves for you. cluck, cluck, cluck.

  3. And you deserve to be spoiled. I found a pig for you. You can’t have it but I did take a picture! You’ll have to read my blog everyday so you don’t miss it.
