I finished both fronts of the Hex Coat! But here’s the weird thing …… although they were knit exactly alike and the proper amounts of stitches were bound off according to the directions, one side seems to have a greater angel of decrease than the other. I have checked, rechecked and triple checked this, but there it is. My guess is that my row gauge shifted somewhere along the way. Am I interested in ripping all of that moss stitch and trying to correct a problem that if noticable at all can be fixed during blocking? nah! The finished tally is: two fronts one sleeve. The back was cast on for last night during the Sopranos. (which btw, I am glad I tell you GLAD – did you hear that Cara?? – that I dropped HBO)
I am working diligently on the Hex because I told myself I would not start another project until it is done. And there is another project waiting in the wings. A glorious, fun, colorful project that I will tell you about later.
……. a month or so ago, I decided to drop HBO and pick up Showtime instead. I wasn’t watching anything on HBO except for The Sopranos. And frankly their long hiatus had kind of pissed me off like that so called friend in junior high that for mysterious reasons wouldn’t talk to you for a week or more and then suddenly was all sunshine and smiles. So I drop HBO and fall in love with Showtime – catching up on past episodes of Weeds, loving The Tudors and of course This American Life.
Cara, God love her, could not believe I had done this. She thought it was by far the stupidest thing I have ever done. She would call to see if I was watching The Bad News Bears on Showtime. Or maybe Ghostbusters. she even got Georgie involved.
So I went over to Flair’s to watch the final epsiode of The Sopranos. I will not go into details since maybe not everyone has seen it yet —– but ha! sure it may have been artistically brilliant and embraced some kind of vision, but I think the viewers got whacked.
I LOVED it…now Tony can make a movie ON HBO!!
The last episode was genius. And I have HBO for Larry David.
Can’t wait to hear about your new project!
Ha! I just dropped showtime! Like Friday. I had it for a year now for free, but my promotion period ran out and it jumped up to 13.00 a month. So.Not.Worth.It UNLESS Weeds is on (so I’ll call back in August and sign up for it again, only to cancel once the new Weeds season is over) HBO is still mine for free for another 18 months.. wee! Back to Weeds, its FANTASTIC! Have you gotten to the end of last season yet in reruns? Best cliffhanger I’ve ever seen! I am practically counting down the days ’til the new season starts!
As for Sopranos. I won’t be a spoiler either. And I’m with you.. we got whacked! But.. something I hadn’t thought about, and read this morning on Keith Olbermann’s blog.. (a fantastic theory!) http://thenewshole.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/06/10/220173.aspx
The Boston Globe had a great summary about the finale, it’s worth a read.

I must be the only one who has not watched the Sopranos! I just received the first episodes from NetFlix and will catch up this summer .
I am sure your coat will turn out great!
Never thought of it that way, yeah, the viewers got whacked. I did see it btw & yes, it pissed me off too. What really got me was, 15 min before air time, I read on our local news that the cast of Sopranos was at the Hard Rock. (15mins from home) ahhhhhh!
At least you have an exam schedule Ann, they skipped over me this year, so my kid THOUGHT he wrote down all the correct times…. Can’t wait for this week to be over. xo
