a pug’s morning

it is pouring buckets here today. Mr. Boar is on his way home to help bale the garage – we shall try to keep the rising tide from hitting the back door and coming in the house. In lieu of pictures of my soggy morning, how about a peek into the rarefied life of a pug?

Your day will begin at 6:15. This is your choice. You will perform many spectacular stretches in order to procrastinate going outside to attend to your business. After your outdoor business meeting you will zoom back into the house and madly run around the coffee table with fellow pug Lucy in hot pursuit. You will both be running and yelping with ferocious intent but all the while being nothing more than clowns. After the mad dashes you will be delighted to hear it’s time for breakfast. You and your fellow canines will barrel down two flights of steps and skid across the wooden floors perhaps even wipe out when taking the corners. You will wait patiently by your bowl for your food. Those other two idiots act like animals.

You’ve had your kibble. You have been up for one hour. What do you do next?

See if Mom has made the bed yet and settle in for a nap until dinner!

I almost forgot the daily pork report!

one more update for the plagiarism saga: D#2 heard that the other four students who were accused as well will also be allowed to rewrite their papers. I did not realize that their cases involved this very same assignment. So I am extra glad to have pursued this – it sounds like there was a lot of confusion regarding the paper.

I realize that the drama of all of this may have blinded you to the very real knitting content of yesterday. Knitting content is something of a rarity around here and I would hate for you to miss it! It involves knitting, mathematics and a very cool doohickey! hurry, don’t be the last to know!

I also forgot to mention that I have decided to approach the Pig of the Day project a bit more methodically. At first I was just snapping pictures willy nilly. But as of this week, I am going room by room. All of this week’s pig pics and most likely next week’s are in my bedroom. I do this as a favor to you all since I understand it is imperative that you know the exact placement of items in my vast pig collection. you’re welcome.

Do you remember those Reese’s commercials where two people would be walking along, one eating a bar of chocolate and the other munching from a peanut butter jar? And they would bonk into each other, co-mingling their respective snacks and each exclaim, “You got chocolate on my peanut butter” “Well you got peanut butter on my chocolate!” and it was kind of lame but we all got the message and here I am how many years later remembering it all so it was worth every penny they spent on that advertising campaign? Well this picture is exactly like that minus the lame business

my two favorite things, together at last!

a lightbulb(s) moment!

Did you read Norma the other day? She posted about a light box idea, she found the information here. I don’t need to tell you that Norma is one clever gal, and if she thinks something is worthwhile, it usually is. (I wonder what she thought of the horny goat weed? I know she blogged that it fell out of her wallet, but I don’t believe she ever blogged its efficacy) So anyway, I decided to give the light box a try. Boar picked up some clamp lamps at Home Depot and I was all set to go.

not too bad for my first attempt. I need to get a truly seamless background – maybe some fabric instead of two sheets of paper and I also need to move the clamp lamps. In many of the pictures you can see their reflections.

In addition to fiddling with the camera, I have been knitting. Knitting and knitting. I am happy to report that I am back to where I was before the big rip. The stockinette stitch is making me batty. I am tempted to pick up another project to alleviate the boredom, but if I do that I will never finish. So I will keep my shoulder to the wheel, nose to the grindstone etc.
