I finished both fronts of the Hex Coat! But here’s the weird thing …… although they were knit exactly alike and the proper amounts of stitches were bound off according to the directions, one side seems to have a greater angel of decrease than the other. I have checked, rechecked and triple checked this, but there it is. My guess is that my row gauge shifted somewhere along the way. Am I interested in ripping all of that moss stitch and trying to correct a problem that if noticable at all can be fixed during blocking? nah! The finished tally is: two fronts one sleeve. The back was cast on for last night during the Sopranos. (which btw, I am glad I tell you GLAD – did you hear that Cara?? – that I dropped HBO)

I am working diligently on the Hex because I told myself I would not start another project until it is done. And there is another project waiting in the wings. A glorious, fun, colorful project that I will tell you about later.

Mr. Boar is on vacation this week. We are planning on getting some projects done around here and have already started the Great Churning Out of Many Adirondack Chairs. There has still been no knitting to speak of and so I shall throw lots of pig pictures your way.

First off, this is a picture of a watch maker’s repair desk that is in my kitchen. We refer to this piece as Command Center – we were joking at first, but it truly is command center. Keys, phones, phone numbers, important papers, calculators, tape etc. , all are housed within its many drawers.

Sorry for the absence – there has been no knitting around here lately. Every now and then I managed a row or two on the Hex Coat, but nothing much more than that.

D#1 arrived home from her overseas adventure on Wednesday evening. There was a bit of drama surrounding her arrival that had nothing to do with her, but everything to do with her goofball friends. It led to my downing two vodka tonics later that night. I would love to tell you the details because it is all very funny, but alas with a gigantic readship such as mine, one must be aware of privacy issues. Suffice to say that 21 year old boys/men are slightly moronic. Funny how I never noticed when I was that age. D#1 had a fabulous time – has over 600 pictures to share (we are about ½ through). She is mostly home now for the summer, with a few road trips thrown in for good measure and is off to work this morning. It is so good to have her home!

D#2 is taking the SAT’s this morning. poor thing is a bundle of nerves. Within the next two weeks, she has the SAT’s, the ACT’s, AP exams and finals. Keep fingers crossed for her please!

Mr. Boar is taking the upcoming week off. We have big plans to crank out some more Adirondack chairs and will hopefully also tackle some other house projects. I promise to take many pictures.
