So, the weekend.

How to convey the experience?

Have you ever been to Disney World or any type of big amusement park and seen some kid screaming and crying? having a meltdown because they were on a sensation overload? Well, for a fiber freak like me that is exactly how the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival is!! (except for the crying part!)

Our adventure began on Friday morning and driving down – we left at 9:30ish and arrived around 2:30. Not bad. After checking in at the hotel, we mosied over to the fairground. Vendors were still setting up and there was much hustling and bustling. Later at the hotel, we met another festival attendee. She didn’t think it was open to the public on Friday. hmmm We just drove right up and wandered around. I was glad we were able to get a ‘lay of the land’ before Saturday. On our way to dinner, we stopped at Walmart for bathing suits (hotel rules prohibit skinny dipping in the hot tub and we forgot our swimsuits). Beers with dinner and a hot tub. It was a perfect day!

more on the weekend later, I have to drive daughter #2 to flute lessons. In the meantime, check out my photo album – the link is in the sidebar!

Maryland Festival

P4300018Everything about this festival was big!! Gigantic really.

There were so many vendors, people, sheep and other hairy beasts — it was overwhelming. We had a fantastic time! We met lovely people — wonderful fellow bloggers! There is so much to tell, but I can’t regale you with it all right now. It is the curse of the homecoming – mail, laundry, grocery etc. and on top of it all, I am turning right around and leaving on Wednesday for an away horse show – so more packing to do. I hate to leave you hanging (no pun intended) – I will try to find some time to post again tonight! And I will have loads of less explicit pictures to share! : )

msfThings I did to prepare for the trip:

made tote bags
tidied house
laundry
packed
printed directions
squealed
