Since I took such a teasing from she-who-shall-not-be-named over my Costco cheesecake, I thought a little Betty Crocker action was in order for our knitting get together last night. On the left is a brownie-esque thing prior to baking and on the right is a pecan coffee cake. The brownie-esque thing came from a recipe on the side of a box of cake mix, the coffee cake however is from scratch.
We had a great time – Peggy, Kathleen and Joy brought their knitting and we had a lot of laughs. I am working on the second Retro Rib sock. I really should turn my attention back to Halycon once this sock is done. not to mention my spinning ….
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Mine will be filled with a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday and assisting in fixing our leaking pool (egads — it is always something) on Sunday – with some knitting thrown in for good measure!
Oh, YUM! They both look delicious!! I’m sure they helped fuel the knitting. Have a great weekend (hope the pool leak fix isn’t too serious).
That Katy is such a trouble maker;-)
You both make me wish you weren’t as far east as you can get in the country! Yummm.
I’m about to start my second Retro Rib too! It took me almost exactly 4 months to knit the other one. ;) Among other projects of course.
how bout the recipe for the coffee cake? puleeze?
You’re fresh…and I don’t mean it in a nice way! But that coffee cake was GOOD! My rejected pounded cake toasted up nicely this morning with butter. Might be a good sub for those pop tart dinners!
Can’t believe I passed up those goodies but the cookies were wonderful. Thanks for a great time and lots of laughs!
What is this? Becoming a food blog? I’m outraged! (I’m being a smartass for no good reason again — well, ok, maybe it’s heat stroke.) Poor Kathleen’s pound cake was rejected? Poor Kathleen.
